I can’t say I’m a LA Native even though it feels like I’m getting close. Growing up in Minnesota I can confidently say I’m still a Midwesterner. Even with 8 months of sub-zero temps, my home state is still one of my favorite places to visit.
While most prefer to visit Minnesota in the summer months, I’m still drawn to the winter activities – ice fishing and snowmobiling. Nothing kicks off a conversation in Southern California better than explaining how we drag tiny houses on frozen lakes to fish in the winter – the reactions are priceless.
Winter activities aside, my real passion is all things digital – marketing, technology, and software – specifically the impact our connected world is having on society as a whole. I’ll never forget the first time I understood the infinite possibilities this new world presented. I was fascinated. The internet was the great equalizer, knowledge was instantly accessible to anyone with a computer and a connection.
This access leveled the playing field – anyone with the desire, determination, and commitment could leverage this wealth of knowledge. Effort was now the most valuable currency.
As Mark Cuban famously said – “In sports, the only thing a player can truly control is effort. The same applies to business. The only thing any entrepreneur, salesperson or anyone in any position can control is their effort.” It’s really that simple, put in the work, expand your knowledge, and win the effort game.
My hope is to contribute to the digital community by sharing some knowledge I’ve gained over my years in the digital space.
